New Harley Quinn tv series coming to DC universe

A “Harley Quinn” teaser trailer was showcased at New York Comic Con (NYCC) on October 3 by DC comics in order to have fans and audiences to be excited for the series. The series will be have 26 episode while premiering on DC’s streaming service, DC universe, in late 2019. This will be Harley’s first stand alone tv series ever since her debut on “Batman: the animated series”.

The show will be focus on Harley’s departure from the Joker while attempting to earn a place on the Legion of Doom team with the help of Poison Ivy. The teaser trailer gave the fans a glimpse of how the characters would interact with each other as well as the audiences themselves. Based off watching this teaser trailer, fans are thrilled about the whole entire series in general.

“I am super hyped for this show! I always wanted a modern Harley Quinn tv show and it is finally coming true,” junior Austin Porzio said.

“Harley Quinn” is being executive produced by Justin Halpern, Patrick Schumacker, and Dean Lorey. These executive producers were behind on creating the lived DC superhero comedy, “Powerless”, last year on NBC.

As for voice casting, Kaley Cuoco will voice Harley for this upcoming series. In the past, Cuoco’s costar in the Big Bang Theory, Melissa Rauch,  voiced the character before on Sam Liu and Bruce Timm’s “Batman and Harley Quinn” which debuted last year. According to Rauch, she was very excited when she got the role.

“When the offer came in my inbox on my gmail and I just saw Harley Quinn and I was like What? Harley Quinn? What’s this about?” Rauch said in an interview on DC’s YouTube channel.

Alongside Cuoco, Lake Bell will be voicing Poison Ivy for the show. Also, Diedrich Bader will once again voice as Batman. He first voiced the character on “Batman: The Brave and the Bold” which premiered on 2011. As for the Joker, he will be voiced by Alan Tudyk.

The series was first announced that it was currently under development last year. In fact, the logo was first shown to the fans during DC’s panel at this years San Diego Comic Con (SDCC).

Among speculations from audiences and critics, Harley Quinn proceeds to become a popular icon over time where she is scheduled to be in multiple DC films in the upcoming future. These DC films are “Suicide Squad 2,” “Gotham City Sirens,” and “Birds of Prey.”
