The Biggest Funding Event of the year has arrived

On Saturday September 29 at 8:30 a.m., the athletic department will be holding their annual pancake breakfast event in the cafeteria. The Pancake Breakfast event aims to increase the funding for the sports teams at Granada Hills Charter High School (GHC).

The fundraiser raises more opportunities for the clubs by allowing them to participate in more competitions.

“I like it because I know the better we do, we can go to more tournaments and get new supplies,” junior Noah Turicos, varsity for the wrestling team, said.

According to students athletes and coaches at GHC, they are really looking forward to this event.

“Some of the money that people give for the tickets go back to the team because we’re super broke,” Turcios also said.

Not only does the club provide pancakes, it also comes with a performance by our very own school choir.

“Other than enjoying the morning with pancakes, I’m looking forward to performing in front of many people and entertaining them to have a great day,”  junior Nathan Christian Arabejo, said.

Last year, over 100 hundred people came to the event and raised a lot of money for the teams. As a result, these teams were able to have a great season. Some even progress to the city championships.

Tickets can be sold by athletic students who are participating on any team either on or outside the campus. The tickets costs $5 per person.

Do not miss this once a year funding event at the school. It is not too late to purchase a ticket. These athletic teams and coaches are counting on you.
