The JV Softball place first in league

The JV softball team had won nine out of ten games for the whole entire season. Even though they were not undefeated in the league, they got first place overall.

Compared to last year, this is a huge improvement in winning multiple games. Last year, they lose their first game, but began to be more consistent on winning these games overtime.

One game in particular that really stood out for the whole season is when they played against El Camino Real High School. They left the game winning 11-6, which really shows that this team can be barely competed with the other softball teams in the San Fernando Valley.

These games actually lead to some of the players to be considered for playing with the Varsity Softball team in the city playoffs due to their skills and work they showed  the coaches. These players are freshman, Natalie Shane and Amanda Garcia; sophomore Abigail Ramirez; and sophomore Alyssa Martin.

Similar to their games, their practices are no joke. They practice almost every day after school for three hours. However, these practices finally pay off towards the end of the season and the players would try to make the best of it over time.

Not only are their practices are important to win their games, their relationships between one another is important as well. The team built up a lot chemistry throughout the season and even last year too. This further lead to them trusting one another and become one big family.

“We’re always excited to see each other. Our team this year had really good chemistry,” said sophomore Abigail Ramirez.

Besides that, they had goals for the season, which they actually accomplished this year compare to last year.

“The goal for every team is to place number one and win league, and we did that”, said Abigail Ramirez.

After league, some of the players whom are mentioned before, are now practicing for city championships in the upcoming weeks.
